............................. Enlivening the souls of humanity
2011: We raised $4800 for the 10000 Girls program in Senegal through the sale of the 2011 Beautifully Wrapped calendar.
In addition, we continue to support the education of 5 girls in Sierra Leone. Perhaps within the next few years we will see the construction of a one-of-a-kind school based on morality, entrepreneruship and committment to society for girls.
In 2009, we raised and donated over $2,500 towards development in Sierra Leone including the cost of a water well in Sierra Leone (Operation Clean Water) and education fees for our girls! Thank YOU to all of our supporters!
Our Mission
When we acknowledge that our ever evolving universe functions as a complex system and that each being in it serves a purpose, we acknowledge the beauty of all creation. Our vision is to inspire each individual to fully grasp this reality and understand that we all have the ability to empower another being. Only then will every being have the ability to realize the ultimate potential they possess. Niyah Good Life Foundation strives to heal our global system, to uplift humanity, one soul at a time. We achieve our goal through a variety of programs.
Our History - Bora and Sentu
Niyah Good Life was founded with good intentions of love for all humanity, but at the base, it was founded through a relationship between three souls - Zarinah, Bora and Sentu. In 2007, Zarinah El-Amin Naeem, Niyah Good Life founder, decided to formally organize the volunteer efforts she began three years earlier as an international development worker in Sierra Leone. In 2004, she met two girls, Bora and Sentu. Cousins of ages 7 and 9, these girls worked outside of Zarinah's office in downtown Freetown.
In the morning Zarinah would hear them arrive with their grandmother. And at night she could hear them downstairs laughing and conversing with friends. She observed how they peeled oranges for sell, and how they disappeared for an hour in the afternoons only to return with a fresh pot of nourishment for the family – which they themselves had prepared. Often, Zarinah would visit with the girls and their family to pass the time. Bora and Sentu taught her to peel oranges, speak a few words of Creole and generally lightened her day.
After a while, Zarinah inquired about the possibility of sending the girls to school. Unfortunately in many parts of the world, educating girls is not the top priority. Families often opt for girls to contribute to the household rather than attending school. However, the girl's family agreed and they began school the following fall.
It's been a few years, the girls are still in school and are in the top 90th percentile in their classes! Upon hearing their stories, Zarinah's family and friends decided to join in and 2 grew to 5. God willing we will continue our efforts and build a school of our own.
Thus the Niyah Good Life Foundation was born. We have hopes of providing support to other children throughout the world but we will continue our mission of uplifting humanity, one soul at a time.

NIYAH is a publishing and creative-living company that inspires and uplifts the soul. We publish books and goods of purpose that inform, entertain and motivate action. Before embarking on any project, we ask the question, "Why are we doing this and how does it benefit society?" We pray that through this process, our work will always be of value. |
